Trump Takes Action Against Iran Nuclear Development; Does Not Obtain Congressional Approval

I truly have no words for what we have witnessed this week. Event set in motion from the 2018 US withdrawal by Trump from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, have led to missile strikes in Iran. Despite reports from US Intelligence agencies stating Iran was not producing nuclear weapons, the President authorized bunker bombs to hit nuclear production zones in Iran. This follows reports that Isreal had also bombed Iran.

The President sent out this “Truth” late last night, shocking the country.

The President also spoke for a press briefing later in the evening, as well as his typical onslaught of “truths”

Today, he reflects on this as a show of strength that will unify Americans. Interestingly, he comments on a need for a regime change, while his cabinet members deflect this type of summary reaction.

Iran sources have contradicted the “total obliteration” at some sites. Reported by Rueters, a senior Iranian source told Reuters that most of the highly enriched uranium at Fordow had been moved elsewhere before the attack. Reuters could not immediately corroborate the claim. Additionally, Rueters reports “Trump, who veered between offering to end the war with diplomacy or to join it before moving ahead with the biggest foreign policy gamble of his career, called on Iran to forgo any retaliation. He said the government “must now make peace” or “future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier.””

After the attack and announced “success,” news broke that Tulsi Gabbard disagreed with the potential timeline for Iran to produce nuclear weapons. As reported by India Today, “in her March testimony to lawmakers, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated that the intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.”

She also noted that while Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile is at its highest recorded level — “unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons” — there was still no evidence of a resumed weapons programme.” Trump had two thoughts, “She’s Wrong,” and “I don’t care what she said.”

In a statement from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said, in a statement to ABC News, “Donald Trump promised to bring peace to the Middle East. He has failed to deliver on that promise. The risk of war has now dramatically increased, and I pray for the safety of our troops in the region who have been put in harm’s way. President Trump misled the country about his intentions, failed to seek congressional authorization for the use of military force and risks American entanglement in a potentially disastrous war in the Middle East,” he continued.

Why is this our fight?

Israel targeted Iran. The US decides to retaliate, leading to the potential activation of Iran sleeper cells in the western world.

Every one of us has been put in danger, but none more than our military.

I am absolutely disgusted. I can’t even bring myself to speculate on what will happen next. I am just trying to bring the information.

How do you feel?
